What is BRYCE?

Building Resilient Youth through Connection and Empowerment (BRYCE) is a project that was developed in partnership between Beacon House, a community-based organization in Washington DC’s Ward 5, and the Maternal and Child Health Center of Excellence (MCH CoE) at The George Washington University’s Milken Institute School of Public Health.

The purpose of BRYCE is to build a community foundation that addresses youth mental health needs and helps parents and caregivers learn ways to support youth mental health.

We seek to achieve this goal by: (1) strengthening Beacon House’s ability to respond to youth mental health crises; (2) creating opportunities to strengthen youth and family resilience and promote positive youth development; and (3) establishing ways that young people and their families can easily access meaningful mental health resources.
